Where the QM55C fits
If you don't know what size to buy, it's usually this one. It's also the panel Janie and Jack runs inside its stores: four QM55Cs on ceiling brackets and recessed wall mounts, paired with two high-brightness OM55B panels in the window, all six fed from one CrownTV player through an HDMI splitter so they play in sync.
Why 55 keeps winning: it's the largest QMC one person can carry and hang (34.6 lb), it fits in a normal elevator and through a 36-inch door in its box, and it reads well from 6 to 14 feet, which covers most retail floors, lobbies and break rooms. It's also where the QMC line switches to a VA panel, so contrast jumps from 1200:1 on the 43/50 to 4000:1.
Portrait works well at this size. Turned on its side it's 48.7 inches tall, which is close to a person's height when hung with the bottom edge 2 feet off the floor. That's how Janie and Jack uses it, and it's why fashion and beauty brands ask for it.
Two things buyers miss. First, the VESA pattern is 200 × 200, smaller than most 55-inch TVs, so check your bracket. Second, it's 500 nits. That's plenty inside, but not enough facing a sunny storefront window. For that you want a 3,000-nit OM55B, which is what Janie and Jack put in the glass.
