QMC vs QBC: which Samsung series do you need?
Short answer: QBC if the screen is indoors, away from windows and off at night. QMC if any of those three isn't true. The rest of this page is the numbers behind that.

The price gap, size by size
How we'd decide
The gap is small at 43 and 55 and large at 75 and 85. At the small sizes, we usually say buy the QMC and stop thinking about it: the extra money buys you a 24/7 rating, 150 more nits and a matte screen. At 75 and 85 the QBC saves real money, and in a dim conference room or a restaurant that closes at 10, nobody will see the difference.
Three questions settle it. Does daylight hit the screen at any point in the day? Will it run past 16 hours? Are ceiling spotlights reflecting off it from where people stand? Any yes means QMC.
Neither one is a window display. If the screen faces the street through glass, both will wash out, and you want 3,000 nits or more.
Where QBC is the right call
Menu boards in a mall food court with no skylights. Training rooms. Break-room dashboards. A school hallway that shuts down at 4. In all of those, 350 nits is plenty and 16 hours covers the day. The QBC line is covered size by size on our QBC price list, and the store's QBC collection has the same live prices.
Where QMC earns the extra
A lobby with a glass curtain wall. A 24-hour pharmacy or gym. A retail floor with bright track lights, where the QMC's 25 percent haze knocks down glare. A meeting room where the laptop connects over DisplayPort. Start with the QM55C and size up from there.
QMC vs QBC: questions
Is QMC brighter than QBC?
Yes. Samsung rates QMC at 500 nits and QBC at 350 nits typical. That's about 43 percent brighter, which you notice in a lobby with big windows but not in a windowless back office.
Can a QBC run 24/7?
Samsung rates the QBC for 16/7. Running it around the clock is outside that rating. If a screen never turns off, buy the QMC (24/7 on 43" and up).
Do QMC and QBC use the same software?
Both run Samsung's Tizen 7.0 player and work with MagicINFO and VXT. Content built for one plays on the other.
Which is better for a menu board?
In a typical restaurant with no sun on the screens and hours under 16 a day, QBC is the better value. Choose QMC if the boards face a window or the store runs late-night hours.
Are QMC and QBC the same size and weight?
Nearly. Samsung lists the same 28.5 mm depth, outer dimensions and weights for matching sizes, so the same bracket fits both.
Why does the price gap get bigger at 75 and 85?
Because the QMC 75 and 85 are priced well above their QBC twins. At 75" the gap is $881.50 today. At those sizes it's worth asking whether you really need 24/7 and 500 nits.
