Where the QM98C fits
The LeSportsac flagship at 32 Greene Street in SoHo uses one QM98C as the focal point of the sales floor, framed in custom wood millwork painted to the brand's color, with two high-brightness OM55B panels handling the storefront windows. It's the screen people photograph.
Before you order a 98, check four things. Doors: the panel is 86.3 inches wide and the box is bigger, so measure every door, stair turn and elevator from the truck to the wall. Weight: 124 lb for the panel and about 170 lb boxed, which means a liftgate truck and at least three installers. Depth: unlike the rest of the QMC line (28.5 mm), the QM98C is 48.1 mm deep, almost 2 inches. Wall: you need solid blocking or a mount spread across multiple studs, rated well over 124 lb.
Why not a video wall? Four 49 or 55-inch bezel panels cost more, need a processor and show seams. A single 98 has no seams and runs off its built-in player. Video walls win above 110 inches or when the shape isn't 16:9.
Samsung rates the QM98C for 24/7 at 500 nits with a 5500:1 contrast VA panel, the highest contrast in the QMC line. It draws 363 W typical. We push hard to schedule delivery and install on the same day for a 98, because a 98 sitting in a loading dock for a week is how corners get dented.
